At Head Talk I specialise in The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP), therefore you get this in its purest form and not mixed or blended with a bit of this and a bit of that. This enables me to get a clearer understanding if something is not working and why.

I also offer ongoing backup support when your sessions have finished at no extra cost (within reason) for 12 months. The changes can be so profound it is not uncommon that there will undoubtedly be questions.

At 50yrs of age (2021) life has found me as an extremely proud father of 2 amazing adult children and in a new relationship after 30+yrs with a previous partner. I love bushwalking/hiking, camping, getaways, dancing, tennis, gym, animals and basically everything nature.

My own life journey has not always been smooth and easy but has led me down this path of helping others. For many years I have been assisting people with both physical and mental health concerns. Eventually in a quest to find a solution for my own mental health concerns I came across TRTP. I knew very early that this was the missing tool in my toolbox and that I had to learn it – so learn it I did!

I now have this amazing gift I can share with thousands of others to help them the same way it helped me.

What is TRTP™?

TRTP™ is a simple, but comprehensive, process. Generally in 3 sessions (sometimes longer) it resolves extreme trauma and trauma-related issues – anxiety, depression, fears and phobias SAFELY, quickly, and effectively.

It is a very structured, yet flexible and progressive process. Whilst totally different in its own right, it does encompass various aspects of Gestalt, Mindfulness, Ego-state Therapy, Choice Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Parts Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dream Rehearsal Therapy and others.

Each of these structured yet flexible and  progressive series of steps, if separated would not be anywhere near as effective. Each step is equally as important as any other in the process. One of its greatest features is that it allows space for the individual client’s needs to be met in a safe environment within the individual.

How Does TRTP™ Therapy Work?

TRTP™ makes use of deep imagination.  Deep imagination is used in order to deal with trauma where it is stored – in the subconscious and in the body.
For trauma to be resolved –

  1. the person must (somehow) be moved to an empowered position in regard to the trauma
  2. the body must (somehow) know that the event/events are over

TRTP™ does this by dealing with the limiting underlying, unconscious core beliefs that can keep a person stuck in negative patterns of thought, emotion, and behaviour. These are addressed right at the beginning of the process so as to avoid self-sabotage during the following therapy.

Then by removing the emotional charge from the past, moves the client to a place of empowerment in relation to the trauma. This is achieved using deep imagination. This returns the client to a self-regulated state of functioning and empowerment and as a result, the sympathetic nervous system is calmed. The part of the brain responsible for filing away these sorts of events – the Hippocampus can then place the trauma firmly in the past.

TRTP™ does not merely address the symptoms of trauma. It deals with the underlying cause of the problem, removing the emotional charge from the past and returning the person to a state of empowerment, returning the sympathetic nervous system to calm.
